Our interview with make-up genius Bret Mardock! (Bret - makeup artist on Charmed series!)

We had great pleasure of interviewing Bret Mardock, the Make-Up Genius, Bret - (key) makeup artist on Charmed series! Bret also worked on many other projects such as Romantically Challenged, Sundays at Tiffany’s, Prison Break, The Muppet Movie and many others.

Our interview with make-up genius Bret Mardock! (Bret worked as key makeup artist on Charmed series!)

Charmed Daily: When your working day on set of Charmed would usually start?

✲ Bret Mardock: My working day would usually start about 6:00am.

Charmed Daily: Could you describe us one your usual working day on set of Charmed?

✲ Bret Mardock: I would get Alyssa and whoever else I was doing ready for the day. Like Julian McMahon and other guest stars. We then standby with our actors on set to make sure whatever their character needs is taken care of. Whether it be keeping them pretty… Or adding sweat, blood, cuts and bruises. Whatever the script calls for. And of course we have other actors that need to be made up. So that happens throughout the day too.

Charmed Daily: How was working with girls?

✲ Bret Mardock: Working with all of the girls was wonderful. I still talk to Holly, Alyssa and Rose. And of course I still do Alyssa’s makeup…

Charmed Daily: With which one of the girls have you worked the longest even beside the Charmed series?
✲ Bret Mardock: I’ve worked with Alyssa for almost 20 years now! I haven’t worked with Holly, but I have worked with Rose. I’ve worked with Rose on some photo shoots, and getting her ready for events here in LA. I’ve continued to work with Alyssa!

Charmed Daily: Are you friend with some of the girls privately or just have worked with them?

✲ Bret Mardock: I’m friends with Alyssa, Holly, and Rose. I tweet with them or talk with them all when we have time. Shannen is the only one I don’t talk to. But have seen her and I always enjoy seeing her, and talking with her.

Charmed Daily: Since you worked on many movies and series is there any difference between Charmed series and other series you have worked on?

✲ Bret Mardock: I’d say that after 8 yrs on Charmed the biggest thing is that we become a family. And I have been blessed with that on Melrose Place…and shows like Prison Break, and a few others! But Charmed was special!

Charmed Daily: Have you ever watched any of Charmed episodes, because we know you did amazing job as their key makeup artist?

✲ Bret Mardock: Of course I have! It’s something you MUST DO as a makeup artist. Because even when we see it filmed, and get daily video from the things you’ve shot, it’s always best to see it aired so you can make adjustments.
